Today I will thank God for being my greatest treasure, above all that I have.
“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”
God’s covenant with Abraham was not contingent on what Abraham would do (works) but on God’s grace and unconditional faithfulness; only God passed though the blood-path in the ceremony Abraham dreamed. This same covenant was enacted by Christ who alone walked the path through blood. (See NIV Storyline Bible, Genesis 15). Our destiny with God, therefore, is based on who God is and not what we do, on faith not works.
Today I will go to God’s altar in faith, not fear.
