Today I will trust in the Lord. I will trust because God will hear me. I will trust when my thoughts run to terror, death, despair, betrayal, and turmoil-the worst of the worst. I will trust for He will carry my burdens. I will trust because He invites me to trust, knowing that self-trust is never enough.
Psalm 55:16, 22,23
As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;
But as for me, I trust in you.
Today I will lay on God’s altar my weak trust.
(For God to carry my burden means that He is beside me, shoulder to shoulder. Life is a burden, and so this does not mean a free ride through life. Rather, it is strength in weakness, hope in troubles, encouragement in worries.)
