Today I will “trade my will, self, and desires for your rest, sufficiency, and fellowship.” (Chambers, Utmost, September 13) I will trade the vexing problems of today, the longterm worries of tomorrow, and the unknown of eternity for your immediate, constant, and limitless love, companionship, and friendship. This is surrender-walking with Jesus. Why would I wish to take on unnecessary burdens and reject relief?

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me…
KJV

1 Peter 5:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].
Amplified Bible

Today I will trade what is unnecessary and unfulfilling for the great gifts that await at God’s altar.
