Feed Yourself On God’s Love Through Faith

Feed Yourself On God’s Love Through Faith
The disciples followed Christ for three years but were clueless about Him until the resurrection. The resurrection ignited their faith, they finally understood, and only then were they able to be fed on God’s love. And, having been fed, they were then able to feed others. “Do you love me? Feed my sheep.” How do we gain this faith?
Awaken To God’s Love Through Faith
According to the Bible, believing, gaining faith, and trusting in God are interconnected aspects of a spiritual journey. Here’s how Scripture outlines this process
1. Faith Begins with Hearing God’s Word
Romans 10:17 states, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” This emphasizes that faith originates from engaging with the message of Christ. By immersing oneself in Scripture, listening to teachings, and reflecting on God’s promises, individuals cultivate belief and trust in Him.
2. Embracing Faith as Confidence in the Unseen
Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This means that faith involves a confident assurance in God’s promises, even without physical evidence. It’s about trusting in God’s character and His word, believing in His plans and purposes
3. Trusting God Through Relationship
Trusting in God goes beyond mere belief; it involves a deep, personal relationship with Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 advises, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” This encourages believers to rely on God’s wisdom and guidance in every aspect of life.
4. Growing Faith Through Experience
Faith and trust in God often develop over time through life’s experiences. As individuals face challenges and witness God’s faithfulness, their confidence in Him strengthens. This journey involves continual learning, reflection, and reliance on God’s presence and promises.
5. Practical Steps to Deepen Faith
- Engage with Scripture: Regularly read and meditate on the Bible to understand God’s nature and promises.
- Prayer: Maintain open communication with God, sharing your thoughts and seeking His guidance.
- Community: Join a faith-based community to share experiences, gain support, and grow together.
- Reflection: Keep a journal to note instances of God’s faithfulness and answered prayers.
- Obedience: Act on God’s guidance, even when it’s challenging, to build trust through experience.
Believing, gaining faith, and trusting in God are dynamic processes that involve hearing His word, embracing the unseen, building a relationship, learning through experiences, and taking practical steps to deepen one’s spiritual journey.
