A Prayer For Humility

Lord, You are my God, my savior, my Abba, my all. Deserving nothing and having nothing but myself to offer, I humbly come before you asking only to be awakened to your loving kindness this day.

A Prayer Of Thanksgiving

Thank you for bringing me safely through the night and for the gift of a new day and all that will sustain, guide, and delight me. For you are constantly with me, speak to me through your Spirit, hear my words, care for me as your child, and seek only what is good for me. Thank you for surrounding me with those I love, with angels for protection, and for sending friends and strangers to help me through this day. Thank you for helping me find meaning and purpose to make this day good and right, for being my lamp and lighting the path of my life.

A Prayer Of Praise

Lord, I join the psalmists to praise you for who you are, what you have created, and how you daily redeem and renew your creation-especially me, despite my faults and failings. Let me be always seeking you and discovering you in truth and beauty, in things new and old, and with a mind and heart you constantly renew.

A Prayer Of Intercession

Lord, I raise up to your care those I love—Marian, our children and their children; my nearest and dearest; and friends, strangers I may touch this day, and those with serious problems who are known to me. Help me to respond when someone asks, “help me,” or whose silent plea I hear. And for those who do not know you, awaken in them a desire for you.

A Prayer For Strength For The Journey

Prepare me for joy and pain, to look for what is good and not be disillusioned by what is evil, to be a positive force when it is so easy to surrender to the negative, to trust when I don’t understand.

A Prayer For Wisdom

Open my mind that I may know that you are “more”; more than enough, greater than my problems, a never-ending stream of mercy and grace; and that with you in me, I am enough. Trusting that your will “will be done” is more than sufficient for me to face what is wrong in this world.

A Prayer For Calm

Help me to abide in you, walk with you and see your vision, be in constant touch with you throughout this day, to shine some light upon your glory, to defend my faith, to reach out in love to those I meet, and to seek abundant joy in you and not the precarious happiness the world substitutes for joy.

A Prayer For Wonder

Open my eyes to your wonder, seize me with the power of your great affection. Teach me your precepts that I may understand. Soften my heart that I may know that I am your beloved.

A Prayer Of Surrender

With gratitude for blessings without measure and with a trust firmly rooted in your promises; with a heart enlightened and showered with your kindness, I surrender my life this day to you.
