Old Satan, in misleading but appealing tones, enticed our Lord: “Responsibility is an onus hassle. Let it go. Fall in line. I’m the one who understands, who is on your side, who can deliver more. Dump this messiah mess and I’ll set you up for life.”
But Jesus made the profound and basic decision to be true to himself and his heavenly Father. He would use his freedom to be fully responsible.
