My journey to the abundant life is currently 76 years in the making.
I could never have imagined where I could be today based on my early years. That is the blessing of time directed by God. Where I once craved what the world promised, now I crave the promise of a loving God. When once I sought to optimize my search results on my business website, I now work to optimize my search for wisdom. And where LinkedIn was my business resumé, it is now directed to The Abundant Life.
Today I Will
Follow Christ In Servanthood
Today I will follow Christ’s example of servanthood and enter the lives of those I am called to serve, seeing life (with all its frailties, contradictions, faults, weaknesses, and injustices) from their perspective, not mine. Christ was not an aloof advisor but an “I am in this with you, brother” friend and savior.
Seek True Wealth
Today I will consider “fictitious wealth” (Chambers): fictitious happiness, safety, power, and prestige, and realize where true wealth resides. Even in times of want and worry, times when external circumstances are hard, I will reside in God’s fountain of joy which is true wealth.
Attempt The Impossible
Today I will attempt what is impossible through my own powers but that is made possible by the love of God, and that is to grasp the all-encompassing Good News presented in Ephesians and what is means to be adopted by God, sought after by God, and redeemed by God.
