Today I will embrace the peace that only God provides. Isaiah said, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3.) It was announced by angels to simple shepherds, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” (Luke 2:14). It was given to the disciples, “Peace be unto you.” (Luke 24:36) after the resurrection, like a bookend to Isaiah’s announcement.
The peace of Christ is the presence of Christ in our lives, a constant awareness; it is a knowing beyond knowledge, believing beyond belief, light in the darkness. Grasp it. Cling to it.
Today I will go to God’s altar in perfect peace.
