Today I will stop being ignorant of myself and glimpse what I look like to God, who sees into all the dark crevices of my soul. I will consider the parables and what they expose in me. This will be the foundation of being remade by Him.

With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they
could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable.

This is the message from two of Brennan Mannings books: Abba’s Child and Ragamuffin Gospel. Until we recognize the ragamuffin in us (dirty, bedraggled, and beat up) we cannot grasp or appreciate God’s “furious” love for us, a life-transforming love.
Today I will go to God’s altar to see myself in His eyes.
