Today I will examine all my possessions that make me believe I am rich, including, but beyond, money; which of these would make me sorrowful to surrender, to place above my love of God? Comfort, reputation, security, possessions, service, family, faith? Which of these must I offer as gifts to God that I may find my joy in Him and not be sorrowful? Am I prepared to sell all that I have (Luke 18:22), that is, to rid myself of self-acquired obstacles, that I may possess Him?
