Today I will try to grasp the magnitude of the atonement; God sacrificed His most precious possession in the most beastly way to restore us, His undeserving and rebellious creatures, to a wholesome, loving relationship with Him. This simply leaves me breathless. And I cannot remain in awe but must live a life that speaks of this gift.
1 John 2:2
And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature—our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world
Amplified Bible
Today I will go to God’s altar justified through God’s gift.
