Why Keep Praying When Prayers Doesn’t Seem to Work?
This eternal and perplexing question can only be comfortably answered by understanding the purpose of prayer. Yes, we make requests and intercede. It is only human to have expectations based on what we wish to happen. But the ultimate purpose of prayer is to connect with, acknowledge, and glorify God with the only gift we truly have and that is faith. With this in mind, despite disappointment, frustration, and anger, we can transcend our human emotions and rise to a greater joy than if what we prayed for happened.
Your Grandpa Loves You
My friend, Sebastian, writes a daily blog to his 7 grandchildren. He has been doing this for years without interruption. With profound clarity and simplicity, Sebastian applies Holy Scripture in a way that makes sense to his grandchildren. He has allowed me to share his writings, below.
"God......is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes."
(Ephesians 3:20)
We often don't realize our full potential or our amazing capabilities.
That's because as humans we think we are limited and prohibitive in what we can accomplish. Always remember in God's world nothing is impossible. With His vision, wisdom and assistance we can achieve things most non-believers wouldn't even think of. This is the beauty of our faith and the reality of knowing the "truth" and the "way". Never be shocked or surprised when you do the extraordinary. It's God working in your life to do great things.
Your grandpa loves you.
