Today I will stand ready in anticipation of spiritual battles. I will use all spiritual armor provided by God, my armorer.
The girdle holds the sword and prepares the spiritual soldier to act by gathering up the clothes; to be girded is to be prepared.
The chestplate of righteousness covers the main body and protects the full integrity of the soldier.
The shield, soaked in the waters of faith, quenches the flaming darts of evil words and deeds.
The feet are prepared to move quickly, endure long travel, and stand firm against resistance.
The helmet of hope in salvation protects against lies and affords confidence in victory.
The sword is the word of God that is the cut and thrust of truth that drives away Satan.
And this is why you need to be head-to-toe in the full armor of God: so you can resist during these evil days and be fully prepared to hold your ground.Yes, stand—truth banded around your waist, righteousness as your chest plate, and feet protected in preparation to proclaim the good news of peace. Don’t forget to raise the shield of faith above all else, so you will be able to extinguish flaming spears hurled at you from the wicked one.Take also the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Today I will approach God’s altar fully armed against whatever attacks Satan may have on the way.
