Today I will evaluate my faith: do I believe because I am drawn—perhaps irresistibly—to believe or do I believe merely as an intellectual act? Do I truly trust God or is my trust only on my mental understanding of God? Am I changed by God’s irresistible grace or someone’s persuasive power?

John 6:44
The Father is the one who sent me, and he is the one who brings* people to me. I will raise them up on the last day.
Easy-To-Read Version

Today I will be drawn to God’s altar by a trusting belief.

*Most translations use the word “draws.” We may interpret this as forming a desire, even being gently persuaded, through the words of Christ found in the Gospels. In other words, we are not to wait passively or indifferently for God’s call, but to respond with a personal desire, even in a very small way, to the faint whispers or nudges of God’s call that may come in surprising ways.
