FALSE GODS ARE POWERFUL

The image in the above photo is a gargoyle fashioned from concrete. It is lifeless and therefore not a threat. False gods are not lifeless; they are real but may not be as visible as this gargoyle. They are also destructive, not only to our physical and mental selves but also to our relationship with our true and only God.

Learn how to recognize and defend against false gods. Read 5 Signs You’re in Spiritual Warfare and How to Fight It by Debbie McDaniel.

She identifies these 5 signs:
Sudden or extreme onslaught of various troubles, losses, and trials
Attacks of physical danger, illness, life-threatening loss
Increased temptation and luring towards sin or wrong choices
Feelings of overwhelming despair, darkness, and fear
Deep confusion, feelings of condemnation and guilt, dulled spiritual awareness

We are not left defenseless. In fact, the armor of God is more than sufficient against any attack. Paul exhorts us, in Ephesians 6:11, to put on the full armor of God. Read Ephesians 6:11-17 in full, and also McDaniel’s 7-point spiritual warfare battle plan in her blog post.
