Today I will try to find common ground with those I meet that I may tell them about Christ. This is such a profound morsel of common sense. And, it requires a great deal of humility; “I’ve been broken, lost, depressed, oppressed, and weak that I might find favor and gain the weak (Voice).” “…to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever” (Message).

There is a balancing act involved: (Paul speaking) “I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view (Message).

1 Corinthians 9:22
Yes, whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so that he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him.
Living Bible

Today I will go to God’s altar open to whatever common ground I find with those also on my path.
