Today I will get out of Christ’s way and let Him do the heavy lifting. This is a clear message, one that brings both responsibility and comfort; responsibility to trust Christ and not ourselves, and comfort that Christ is in control. It is an admonition against pride and sophism (“I will make it happen because I have the eloquence.”)

John 12:32
“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”

Jesus says that it is His job to “draw” all peoples to Himself. We are to represent Him as well as we can, but we never convert anyone. It is Christ’s job to cause faith to dawn in human hearts, not ours.
NKJV Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible Notes

1 Corinthians 2:1-5
When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about GodMy message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
NIV

“Belief in Jesus is a miracle produced only by the efficacy of Redemption, not by impressiveness of speech, not by wooing and winning, but by the sheer unaided power of God.”
Chambers My Utmost for His Highest, July 17

Today I will go to God’s altar trusting in His power and His power alone to restore His kingdom.
