Today I will pray the Holy Spirit to rescue me from the temptations and trials that would separate me from the Father, to reveal to me the means of escape. Temptations are part of humanity; they will always be present. There are frivolous temptations, like eating too much and exercising too little, and these can be addressed with common sense and wisdom. The critical temptations are the ones which force us to choose God or reject God, meaning whether or not we follow His commandments, His Word, His image in Christ, and His discerning Spirit within us.

“Lead us not into temptation” does not mean that we will not be tempted. It means calling upon the power of the Holy Spirit to lift us out of and away from those actions that would severe our relationship with our creator.

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].
Amplified Bible

Today I will pray my way through temptations to God’s altar.
