Today I will proclaim God for the comfort (strength during trials, hope, and renewal) that only the Creator provides. Everything other than God cannot satisfy the human heart. I will wait upon the Lord*.

Isaiah 40:9, 2931
Go up on a high mountain…Say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!”

He gives strength to those who are tired;
to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.

But those who wait for the Lord’s help find renewed strength;
they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings,
they run without growing weary,
they walk without getting tired.
New English Translation

Today I will ascend to God’s altar to proclaim that God is with us.

*The word wait is a Hebrew word that meant to wind or to twist as in making a rope. A wound rope of several strands is stronger than a single stand of the same size. Isaiah is saying, “Wait on the Lord for His strength.”
