Today I will seek a higher level of repentance, a searing sorrow for having done what is evil in God’s sight, and for having drifted from my relationship with Him. It is a turning around which is greater than personal remorse and disgust over my actions. “The entrance into the Kingdom is through the panging pains of repentance crashing into a man’s respectable goodness; then the Holy Ghost, Who produces these agonies, begins the formation of the Son of God in the life.” (Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, December 7)

2 Corinthians 7:10
Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets, end up on a deathbed of regrets.
Message

Today I will shed my respectable goodness for the true sorrow that leads to God’s altar.
