Today I will seek true joy, not mere happiness.

True joy is found in “The Word of God, living and growing within us” (NASB Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Study Bible). It is obedience to the Father. Obedience yields fruitfulness, which yields joy. “Man’s idea of joy is to be as happy as he can by leaving God out of his life. The Lord taught that real joy comes by taking God into one’s life as much as possible.” (Believers Bible Commentary). Complete joy “Presupposes that human joy in a fallen world will at best be ephemeral, shallow, and incomplete until one experiences God’s love in Jesus, the love for which we were created, a mutual love that issues in obedience without reserve.” (NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible)

John 15:11
I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.
Amplified Bible

Today I will travel to God’s altar to find true joy.
