Today I will not allow cleverly devised myths (cunningly devised fables, made-up stories, ingeniously concocted myths) to distract me, to cause me to question the power and legitimacy of the gospel message, attested to by eyewitness accounts of Christ’s majesty.

For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
