Today I will focus on the big picture: God’s reaching out to us and our duty to respond faithfully to Him. Small issues, theoretical abstractions must not derail us from the picture of eternity (John 14:2) nor from the disciplines we need here to live in accordance with God’s will (2 Peter 1:5-11). How sad it would be to view one’s life as a fallow field.
2 Peter 1:5-8
To achieve this, you will need to add virtue to your faith, and then knowledge to your virtue; to knowledge, add discipline; to discipline, add endurance; to endurance, add godliness; to godliness, add affection for others as sisters and brothers; and to affection, at last, add love. For if you possess these traits and multiply them, then you will never be ineffective or unproductive in your relationship with our Lord Jesus the Anointed;
Today I will approach God’s altar humbly asking for the commitment and perseverance to practice the traits of faith leading to a life of true Christian love.
