Today I will “trade my will, self, and desires for your rest, sufficiency, and fellowship.” (Chambers, Utmost, September 13) I will trade the vexing problems of today, the regrets of the past, and the longterm worries of tomorrow for your immediate, constant, and limitless love, companionship, and friendship. This is surrender-walking with Jesus. Why would I wish to take on unnecessary burdens and reject relief?

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me…
KJV

1 Peter 5:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].
Amplified Bible

Today I will trade what is unnecessary and unfulfilling for the great gifts that await at God’s altar.
